About The Event

Join us at our 1st Annual Foundation-2-Freedom Panel & Reentry Proclamation signing, hosted by God's Chosen Ministry, Inc, in partnership with Cameron University.  Our panelist will be discussing offender reentry as it relates to barriers to reentry, the importance of post-secondary education, continum of healthcare, the correlation between Adverse Childhood Events (ACES) as it relates to incarceration, and offender reentry overall.  Our mission is to bring awareness to the justice system as it relates to our incarceration system, and the role we play as a community in ; ensuring public safety and increasing successful offender reentry back into our communities.  We strive to encourage, empower, envision, and prepare.  Our guests panelists are experts and professionals from Lawton Public Schools System, Oklahoma Department of Corrections, Comanche County Healthcare System, and a Professor of Criminal Justice from Cameron University.  We have invited special guests from the Oklahoma State Department , Lawton Fort Sill City Council, Lawton Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce members & ambassadors, for profit and non-profit organizations, and many other community leaders, students from Cameron University and Great Plains Technology, and the general public.  Our hope is to drive dialogue, ensue partnerships, and increase public awareness, as it relates to reentry.  We're focusing on where we've been, where we are, where we're going and how we plan to get there!  So we invite you to get involved, be engaged, and be heard.  If you have been incarcerated, and are having difficulties with your transition, a family of the incarcerated, work in law enforcement, legal-aid or public defender, a church group, mentorship program, drug and alchohol treatment professional, therapists or just someone who wants to know more about what's happening in your community; we want to hear from you!

Additionally, our very own Mayor Stan Booker will be making a presentation and signing our Reentry Month Proclamation; to bring an annual awareness to the barriers to reentry in celebration of "Reentry Month," in support of the 2nd Chance & 1st Step Act!

Following the signing of the city proclamation, we will be offering refreshments to our guests and a time to meet and greet our panelists, special guests speakers, community leaders and others who are involved in your area.

Due to Covid-19, please RSVP by Friday, 03-25-2022.  Come out and support your city in being a beacon for other suburban areas by bridging the gaps to reentry!
